CONNUSA’s relevant experience is as follows:

ACHIEVEMENTS: Combined Cycle & Gas Fired Power Plants

For the past twenty years CONNUSA, in association with International Consultants has completed Feasibility Studies, Detailed Engineering Design, Construction Supervision and Commissioning for Power Plants throughout Indonesia totaling more than 7,420 MW , of which Combined Cycle and Gas Fired Power Plants account for approximately 2,017 MW located at seven different power plant sites.
Muara Karang Combined Cycle Power Plant: 720 MW
The project is an extension of the existing Plant at Muara Karang, 12 km east of Soekarno-Hatta International airport, North Jakarta, consisting of:
  • The installation of one block 720 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant, 1300°C class gas turbines, together with all ancillary equipment with plant configuration of Gas Turbine: Heat Recovery Steam Generator: Steam Turbine = 2: 2: 3.
  • The demolition of existing three units of 100 MW oil fired power plant but reusing existing equipment.
  • The improvement of 150 kV transmission systems between Muara Karang Power Station and Jakarta by replacing conductor, rising up tower height, and upgrading switchyard and substations.
Together with the lead foreign consultant, CONNUSA was the lead local consultancy team to provide Detailed Design Engineering and Construction Management services in connection with the procurement, installation and commissioning of the plant.
Muara Tawar Combined Cycle Power Plant: 225 MW
The power station is located approximately 30 km north east of Jakarta, north of Marunda Makmur road at the northern part of Bekasi, West Java. As an extension of the existing Power Plant, the new Combined Cycle power station with total installed capacity of 225 MW (one gas turbine, one HRSG and one steam turbine) comprises of:
  • 1,100°C class, Multi Shaft Gas Turbines and Generators with auxiliaries
  • Fuel gas system with gas compressors
  • Heat Recovery Steam Generators with auxiliaries
  • Steam Turbines and generators with auxiliaries
  • Main Transformers
  • Extension of 500kV switchyard
  • H2Generator
  • Electrical equipment including transformers, switchgears, and motors
  • Cooling water system using existing intake and outfall

CONNUSA is part of the consultancy team to provide Detailed Engineering Design and Construction Management services in connection with the procurement, installation, supervision of construction and commissioning of the plant.
Tanjung Priok Combined Cycle Power Plant: 720 MW
The power station is located approximately 10 km north east of Central Jakarta and 25 km east of Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International airport. The new power plant is to replace existing 50 MW oil fired power plant with the new Combined Cycle power station of 720 MW (plant configuration 2:2:1) with main features comprises of:
  • Two units of 250 MW class Gas Turbine Generator with low NOx combustion system and associated equipment including compressor and by-pass stack
  • Two sets of Heat Recovery one gas turbine with associated equipment
  • Steam Turbine Generator and Condenser with associated equipment
  • Main Transformer and 150 kV Switchyard GIS
  • Electrical components including switchgear and motors
  • Water intake and cooling water related equipment
  • Waste Water Treatment plant and outlet channel
  • Fuel gas and light diesel oil supply system
  • Control and Instrument Equipment
  • Desalination Plant and Demineralizer
  • Balance of Plant Building with HVAC
CONNUSA was part of the consultancy team to provide Detailed Engineering Design and Construction Management services in connection with the procurement, installation, supervision of construction and commissioning of the plant.
Keramasan Combined Cycle Power Plant, 82 MW
The new power station is located on riverside of Keramasan River, a downstream of Musi River, in the suburb of Palembang. The project is to increase power on the existing plant with the following features:
  • Plant output : 82.2 MW (41.1 MW X 2)
  • Plant Configuration : Combined Cycle Power Plant, 2 X (GT + ST + HRSG)
  • Operation Mode : Natural gas
  • Fuel : Natural gas (Back up fuel : HSD)
The main equipment of the new power plant comprises of:
  • 2 units of 25 MW class Gas Turbine including Air Intake System and Exhaust System
  • 2 units of Generator for Gas Turbine
  • 2 units of Heat Recovery Steam Generators with auxiliaries
  • 2 units of Main exhaust gas stacks after HRSG
  • 2 units of Gas Turbine bypass stack and Diverter dampers
  • 2 units of Steam Turbine 2 units of Steam Condenser
  • 3 units of feedwater system with tank and LP/HP pumps
  • 1 unit Water/Steam-Cycle Piping between Steam Turbine and HRSG
  • 1 Unit Closed Cooling Water System for Gas Turbine
  • 2 units of Step up transformer for ST & GT generator
  • 2 units of Gas Turbine auxiliary transformer
  • 1 set of 150 kV Switchyard extension for the Steam Turbine Power evacuation
  • 1 set of GT-Control System for GT, HRSG Control system and enhancement of Combined Cycle Control System
CONNUSA was part of the Consultancy Construction Management team to furnish Conceptual Design, Detailed Engineering Design and Construction Management services for the plant.
Samarinda Combined Cycle Power Plant : 60 MW
The power station was a dual firing 60 MW combined cycle power station situated on Mahakam River at Tanjung Baru, Samarinda. This plant has been constructed such as to facilitate later conversion to a Combined Cycle plant. This installation was the first in Southeast Asia (and one of only a limited number in the World) to make use of aero derivative turbines made by Roy Royce.
The scope of work included:
  • The 2x30 MW Gas turbines and generating plant
  • All associated ancillary equipment including generator transformers, protection and communications
  • Water intake and cooling equipment
  • Waste water treatment plant
  • New 150 kV substation and overhead lines
  • All associated site civil works, plant foundations, structures and buildings
  • Boilers (include WHRB) and Feed Heating Plant
  • Fire Water Systems and Pumps
  • Control and Instrumentation Equipment
  • Instrument Air Systems including Compressors and Air Receivers
  • Generator step-up and Auxiliary Transformers
  • Switchgear
  • Miscellaneous Station Common Services Equipment
  • Tower Steelwork

Cikarang Listrikindo Combined Cycle Power Plant (Add-on): 150 MW
The power station was an Add-on to the existing plant at Cikarang, West Jawa. CONNUSA was part of the Consultancy Construction Management team along with IVO to furnish Engineering Design Review and Construction Management services for the plant.
Padang Gas Fired Power Plant: 60 MW
The power plant consists of two block gas turbine closed cycle 30 MW at Padang, Sumatera. CONNUSA was the lead firm to furnish complete Detailed Engineering Design services for the plant. The scope of services provided by CONNUSA included:
  • Detailed Engineering Design
  • Pre-qualification of Bidders
  • Preparation of Bid Documents
  • Adjudication of Bids and recommendation for Contract Award

Summary of Experience:
COMBINED CYCLE & GAS FIRED POWER PLANT
CONNUSA has contributed 2,017 MW in total of Combined Cycle and Gas Fired power plants. The services included Design Review of Contractors’ designs and drawings and Supervision of Construction and Commissioning with full scope of services as follows:
  • Detailed Engineering Design
  • Review and comment as necessary on overall program for manufacture, factory testing, shipping, delivery to site, construction, commissioning tests and system tests
  • Review of site preparation for power plants
  • Review results of soils investigations to be used in calculations for civil foundation and structural designs
  • Design audit of contractor’s calculations and designs for all equipment and civil works
  • Review and approve all contractor’s drawings for plant, plant layouts, site layouts and all civil works
  • Review the Contractor’s Quality Assurance and Quality Control documents for compliance with the contract documents as well as applicable Codes and Standards
  • Witness and report on factory tests and inspections
  • Review arrangements for delivery of equipment to site with particular emphasis on heavy loads and bridge crossings
  • Review arrangement for storage of equipment at the different Sites
  • Supervise all construction activities for plant and civil works
  • Agree as necessary to changes to civil works in accordance with actual site conditions
