EXPERIENCE IN 275 kV & TRANSMISSION

The first 275 kV transmission lines were introduced in Indonesia in 2002. The project was referred to as ‘Interconnection of Central and South Sumatra 275 kV project’. CONNUSA was part of the Consulting team providing Construction Supervision. Prior to this CONNUSA was also involved in the overall detailed design for the 275 kV system in Sumatra including preparation of Bid Documents. CONNUSA is thus well positioned to participate in the planned 275 kV expansions in Sumatra and also for the planed introduction of 275 kV on the islands of Kalimantan and Sulawesi.

ACHIEVEMENTS: 275 kV TRANSMISSION PROJECTS

In the past twenty years, CONNUSA in association with International Consultants has completed Feasibility Studies, Engineering Design and Supervision of Construction and Commissioning of: Some 860 km of 275 kV single and double circuit overhead lines Construction of 2 new 275 kV substations and Extensions to 2 existing 275 kV substations

Significant 275 kV projects for which CONNUSA has provided services include:

275 kV Lubuk Linggau to Bukit Assam Interconnection: Transmission, 170 km

This 275 kV, 170 km interconnection was intended as the initial step in the interconnection, at 275 kV, of the different regions of Sumatra. The scope of work included

• Review of earlier designs and studies
• Preparation of new Detailed Design Study with identification of all equipment parameters suitable for Bid documents
• Preparation of Bid Documents including Plants Specifications and parameters, Bills of Quantities and Cost Schedules
• Environmental Impact Assessment
• Site investigations
• Line routing

275 kV Central and South Sumatra Interconnection: Transmission, 390 km

Notable Achievement: The overhead lines for this project were of 275 kV construction (the first in Indonesia) but initially they were to operate at 150 kV. The full scope of work included for

• 390 km of double circuit overhead line routed from Lubbuk Lingga to Kiliran Jao via Bangko and Muara Bungo with a spur from Muara Bungo to Jambi
• New double busbar 150 kV substations at Bangko, Muara Bungo, Jambi and Kiliran Jao complete with line, transformer and bus coupler bays and all associated ancillary plant and civil works
• Extension to one existing 150 kV substation

CONNUSA provided Construction Supervision for the project including:

• Design audit of Contractor’s designs and drawings
• Monitoring the Implementation Schedule
• Supervision of construction and site commissioning tests
• Project Management
• Monitoring Quality Assurance and Quality Control programs
• Assistance in preparation of ‘as-installed’ drawings
• Preparation of reports
• Technology Transfer

275 kV Payakubuh to Padangsidempuan Interconnection; Transmission, 300 km

The purpose of this project was to provide a 275 kV interconnection between North and West Sumatra. The scope of wok included for:

• 300 km of double circuit 275 kV overhead lines
• Extensions of the existing 275 kV substations at Payakubuh and Padangsidempuan including all primary and ancillary plant
• All associated civil works associated with the substation extensions

The scope of services provided by CONNUSA for this project included Detailed Design Engineering, Preparation of Bid Documents and Supervision of Construction and Commissioning detailed as follows:

• Review of earlier designs and studies
• Preparation of new Detailed Design Study with identification of all equipment parameters suitable for Bid documents
• Preparation of Bid Pre-qualification Documents and Bid Documents including Plants Specifications and parameters, Bills of Quantities and Cost Schedules
• Assistance with Pre-qualification of Bidders and evaluation of Bids
